Deer with Santa Hat

"Where's Dasher and Dancer! Prancer and Vixen?" Gather up all the reindeer because Santa has misplaced his hat. Our holiday deer hails from the hills of Northern Bavaria, where the artisans of Ino Schaller have made Christmas crafts for over a century. Covered in rich brown flocking, this charming creature sports a faux white scarf and you-know-who's red hat — which he'll surely return to its rightful owner before Christmas.

• Handcrafted.
• Hand decorated.
• Soft brown flocking.
• Faux fur scarf; felt hat.
• Handmade in Germany.

Founded by Carl Schaller in Germany in 1894, this family business became known for its charming papier-mâché figures, only to see the technique nearly disappear in the 1950s. Fortunately, the family saved its original molds, and in the 1980s, great-grandson Thomas Schaller helped revive the tradition, bringing its handpainted Santas and other fanciful characters back to life for a new generation of collectors.
